Our technical teams, working alongside our technology partner, continue recovery efforts for the storage-related issue affecting a portion of the infrastructure in the SYD region.

The required replacement hardware has arrived onsite, and the storage array reset was completed successfully. Replacement of the affected hardware component is now underway.

Following completion of the hardware replacement, additional storage recovery activities will be performed. Rackspace teams will then complete the necessary recovery and validation of the affected VMware environment before full service restoration can be confirmed.

We will continue to provide further updates as recovery activities progress and additional information becomes available.

On 31 August 2026 at approximately 04:50 CDT, Rackspace identified a storage-related issue affecting a portion of the infrastructure in the SYD region. Customers utilizing the affected storage may experience virtual machines being offline or inaccessible.
Our technical teams, working alongside our technology partner, have identified a hardware fault within the affected storage infrastructure which requires a replacement and subsequent recovery activities. Estimated time to complete the replacement and recovery activities is approximately 7–8 hours with additional few hours for our team to validate.
